Endangering Another Person: Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:24, 7.1:

Endangering (2nd Degree): If a person knowingly engages in conduct which creates a substantial risk of death to a person with a developmental disability, he commits a 2nd degree offense which is punishable by up to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Endangering (3rd Degree): If a person knowingly engages in conduct which creates a substantial risk of death to another person, he commits a 3rd degree offense which is punishable by up to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison. *NOTE: It is also a 3rd degree offense for a person to knowingly engage in conduct which creates a substantial risk of serious bodily injury to a person with a developmental disability.

Endangering (4th Degree): If a person knowingly engages in conduct which creates a substantial risk of serious bodily injury to another person, he commits a 4th degree offense which is punishable by up to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison. *NOTE: It is also a 4th degree offense for a person to recklessly engage in conduct which creates a substantial risk of bodily injury to a person with a developmental disability.

Endangering (Disorderly Persons): If a person recklessly engages in conduct which creates a substantial risk of bodily injury to another person, he commits a disorderly persons offense which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail.
